How to open the preferences

Click Cookie Settings in the footer of any page. The same dialog that the banner opens through Manage Cookies appears, with an analytics checkbox that is never pre-ticked.

What each category controls

Strictly necessary — always on: the localStorage entries autovig.cookie-consent and autovig.cookie-preferences (your choice), the autovig.preferred-locale entry and the autovig_root_locale_routed cookie (your language). They are used without consent under the strictly-necessary exemption.
Analytics — when enabled, Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) loads and records pseudonymous page views (_ga, _ga_<container-id>, 13 months). When disabled, the script is not loaded; disabling it after it has loaded stops it and deletes those cookies.

There is no marketing category, because the Site uses no advertising or marketing trackers.

Where the choice is stored

Your choice and the version of the Cookie Policy under which you made it are stored locally in autovig.cookie-consent and autovig.cookie-preferences. They are not synced across devices and not sent to our servers. Clearing site data resets the choice and shows the banner again; a change in the list of consent-required tools does the same.

The record exists so that the Site can honour your choice. Because it stays on your device, it is not a consent log held by us.

If something is not working

If the dialog does not open, try disabling browser extensions that block scripts, or use another browser. If the issue persists, email privacy@autovig.eu with the page URL and browser version.
